Conzert & selectors set

Alexia Thomas & Malekah Brem (Basel)

Place Festivalzentrum Lehrer*zimmer PROGR

Duration 1h

Saturday 9.5. 23:00

A heartwarming concert evening at the festival center featuring musician Alexia Thomas. Her music moves between delicate soundscapes and poetic imagery that evoke both intimacy and melancholy. Her songs reveal intimate moments, the image of honey on lips, not sticky and heavy, but soft and still, like pomade in winter. The sounds initially seem light and floating, yet the lyrics reveal deep layers: longing, vulnerability, and the quiet hope for an end without pain - or at least an end later than expected. The music allows the audience to be “lost in space” for a moment, somewhere between comfort and reflection. The concert invites you to let the songs carry you away, to listen together, and to immerse yourself in this fragile world of sound, for a while. After the concert, there will be time to wind down and sit together, accompanied by Malekah Brem and her selectors set.

Alexia Thomas combines experimental elements, electronic and acoustic sounds with English lyrics. Her debut album Based on a Dream transports listeners into surreal indie and dream-pop worlds, exploring dreams, utopias, and the spaces between reality and imagination. Her music creates emotional, nostalgic atmospheres beyond rules and genres. Since 2020, the 22-year-old has been writing and producing music under her real name—and more: her passion for music and variety is part of why she not only performs as a musician but also writes and produces songs for other bands. Since summer 2023, Alexia Thomas has adopted the artist alias dudette to break boundaries and conventions, bringing fresh energy to the Swiss rap scene.
